Tsavo Leonbergers is located in the Snow Belt capital of Northeast Ohio. Our love for the breed started in 2000 when we met Bo, a sweet 10-week-old bundle of fur. The Leonberger bug bit us hard and our journey was underway. Tsavo is a small kennel, breeding a litter once a year, typically less. All of our Leonberger puppies are raised in our home and considered members of the family. Our goal is to produce Leonbergers of sound temperament and good health, combining beautiful type to exemplify the breed standard. We breed and raise each puppy as if we were keeping them all for ourselves. We aim to produce and raise Leos that we would be happy to have in our home.
Our kennel name, Tsavo, (pronounced with a silent "t") was inspired from the remarkable country of Kenya, home of the legendary maneless lions. Tsavo Leonbergers is an AKC registered kennel and we are active member-breeders of the Leonberger Club of America (LCA). We believe that our Leonbergers have the potential to excel in any number of areas. Many of our puppies have successfully competed in conformation, obedience, work in therapy and service programs, but their most important role is being a devoted family companion.
